Norris, TN - The Caleb Crobsy Threshing Barn located inside Norris Dam State Park, offers insight into the Appalachian way of life in Tennessee. The barn was originally built on the Holston River in the 1830's and relocated to its' present site today off Clear Creek Road in 1978.
The threshing barn is free to the public and displays a handful of collections that include old farm tools, fanning mill grain cleaner, plows and a horse drawn wagon located outside. The barn has two levels and is in great condition. In walking distance are the 18th Century Rice Grist Mill and Lenoir Museum. Great place to spend a couple of hours with the family. Bring lunch for a picnic. Short hiking trails are also available.
